Please note that this portion of my personal website, completed in 2000, has been superceded by a new professional website completed in 2005, New York Multimedia & Design.
For the past several years a major portion of my livelihood has been earned by means of designing or "cleaning up" presentations for various companies based in New York City, including Kirshenbaum & Bond, PriceWaterhouse Coopers, Robert A. Becker, Inc., Porter Novelli, McCann Direct, GE Capital, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Times Mirror Magazine, Depository Trust, Societe Generale, Blackstone, American Express, Furman Selz, Disenbach Elkins, Showtime, Dresdner Kleinwort, Sterling Group, Dillon Reed, The Beacon Group, MTV, The Presentation Source, Fallon, McElligott, Solomon Brothers, Bear Stearns, BBDO, Thelen Reid & Priest LLP, Genecom, Lord Abbett & Co., and many others. Click here to read a letter of recommendation concerning my work from Peter Meister of Porter Novelli. I can be reached by phone at 212-989-5281 or by email at chuck@chuckbraman.com. For existing presentations, I can take an initial design that looks terrible and quickly transform it into a clean design that looks great. Similarly, as a professional writer and editor, I can quickly transform and essentialize content as well. In designing presentations, my aim is always to create a visual background that integrates the identity of the company with the theme of the presentation, while making the content of each page as clear as possible. To achieve this, I draw from my background in digital photography, graphic design, logic, and writing and editing. While most PowerPoint presentations are very simple, it is possible for me to add multimedia effects to them if desired. For example, I can create and edit video, Flash animations, and music soundtracks. (For examples of presentation designs embellished with sophisticated graphics created in Photoshop, click on the Photo link on the left. For examples of my video-editing skills, visit the website I created to promote my New York jazz groups. For an example of my Flash animations, visit the website I created to promote my drum textbook. For an example of loop-based soundtrack I created, also visit the website I created to promote my drum textbook.) Below are samples of my presentation designs. Unfortunately, implementing PowerPoint over the web tends to result in undesirable glitches, such as slides and background images that don't display. If a presentation doesn't display after clicking a link, try moving on to the link for the next presentation and then returning to malfunctioning link later (sometimes the second or third time can be a charm). Using Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser 6.0 or later can minimize these problems to some extent. You can downlead IE6 by clicking clicking here. To best view the presentations, after the page appears click on the "slide show" icon on the lower right corner of the screen, and use mouse clicks to advance through the slides.
This design uses the BH&H Lighthouse logo as the basis for a custom 3-D background created in Photoshop. This alternate design uses the BH&H Lighthouse logo as the basis for a custom 3-D background created in Photoshop. This design uses a custom 3-D background designed in Photoshop to convey the presentation's theme of "From Darkness into the Light." The sun is represented by the logo of the presenter, Bates Worldwide. (If the background image on this doesn't load, click here to view the background image only.) This was designed for a medical product that is supposed to clear clogged arteries. This presentation was designed to convey the concept of the integration of the medical profession with the internet. This slide shows how to transform the overly-technical writing and dull graphics typical of most presentations into clear concepts and intriguing graphics. In this simple vector-based design, the colors of the presentation are integrated with the colors of the company logo. |
